Since the replacement of the old Colibris service, My HR Portal serves as the entry point for all administrative procedures related to careers. Accessible via Esterel, it consolidates digital pay slips, leave requests, and advancement tracking.
Access to My HR Portal is part of the services protected by the OTP authentication described above. This distinction between regular services and sensitive services structures the entire security architecture of the portal.
Esterel and the Unique Portal of the Academic Region
Esterel is part of a broader strategy than just the Aix-Marseille perimeter. The academy is part of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur academic region, shared with the Nice academy. The portal contributes to a logic of regional convergence of digital tools.
This regional dimension explains why some resources accessible from Esterel link to services common to both academies. Examination management applications or continuing education platforms operate at the regional level, not strictly academic.
For staff working in both academies (holders in replacement zones, regional inspectors), Esterel offers a single entry point that avoids juggling between multiple portals. Academic credentials remain specific to each academy, but the portal automatically redirects to the correct service based on the agent’s administrative affiliation.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues with Esterel
Access difficulties to the portal follow recurring patterns that are useful to know to save time.
The first case, the most common, concerns lost passwords. The reset procedure goes through the form available on the Esterel login page. It requires having previously entered a recovery email address in the profile. Without this address, only the VERDON service center can resolve the situation.
The second case affects newly assigned staff. Between the date of appointment and the effective activation of the account in the academic directory, there may be a delay of a few days. During this window, no login is possible, including to the messaging system.
The third case concerns mobile device configuration. Since January 2026, the academic messaging system uses new server settings. Staff who configured their phones before this date must update the IMAP and SMTP settings; otherwise, synchronization will fail silently.
Esterel now concentrates almost all digital interactions between staff and their academy.
